A man was shot and killed near a basketball court in the Puerto Real residential area of Fajardo, according to a preliminary investigation by the Police. The incident was reported at 3:58 a.m. on Wednesday, and when police arrived, they found the body of an unidentified man on the ground.
The Division of Homicidios of Fajardo and the on-duty prosecutor are investigating the scene. As of Tuesday, the Police had reported 267 homicides so far this year, nine more than the 258 registered at the same time in 2025.
The police investigation is ongoing, with agents working to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
