Police in Puerto Rico are investigating the discovery of a murdered man's body in Fajardo. The case was reported around 5:53 a.m. at kilometer 4.1 of highway PR-984, in the Naranjo neighborhood.
According to preliminary information, a police patrol was conducting a routine preventive round when officers came upon the scene. Police said the man's body showed gunshot wounds and his hands were tied.
Bullet casings were also found nearby. As of Tuesday, police had reported 281 homicides so far this year, seven fewer than the 288 recorded by the same date in what the article states as 2020 (likely a typographical reference to a prior year for comparison).
