Luis González, president of the Puerto Rico Aqueduct and Sewer Authority (AAA), reported that the Carraízo reservoir's water level continues on a rising trend and expressed confidence it will keep increasing. He said the goal is to reach the safety level again, allowing officials to change the current water-interruption plan and, if necessary, announce a new modification to the public.
González specified that the level needs to reach 3,970 to switch the status to green, which he described as reaching the desired safety level, adding, 'Let's hope God keeps raising it.' Separately, González addressed the La Plata reservoir, saying water service there depends not only on reservoir levels but also on how the pumps operate. He warned that if the water level drops too much, the pumps could begin pulling not just water but also air, which would prevent the pumping unions from delivering 100% of the water to the treatment plant.
He said that as long as equipment continues operating normally, AAA will keep providing service.
