Iván Dariel Ortiz's new film, 'De tal palo', is a family drama that explores how the healing process can be supported or hindered by the personal traumas of loved ones. The story follows Manuel, played by José Félix Gómez, a widower struggling with melancholy and routine, whose life is disrupted by a family crisis when his daughter, played by Denise Quiñones, is hospitalized.
Manuel must then care for his granddaughter, played by Milena Elisa Soltero, whom he had never met. The film delves into the unexpected ways that trauma and healing intersect in the lives of those affected.
Director Iván Dariel Ortiz is known for his previous works, 'El Cimarrón' and 'Héroes de otra patria'.
