The play 'Eurídice según Eurídice', directed and produced by Edgardo Soto, will premiere on September 18 at the Sala Experimental Carlos Marichal in the Centro de Bellas Artes de Santurce. The production, which has previously been presented in London and Mexico City, features Denise Quiñones, Marian Pabón, and Luis Obed Velázquez.
The story, based on the legend of Orpheus and Eurydice, is told from Eurydice's perspective and combines acting, singing, dancing, and live music. According to Soto, the play explores themes of relationships, decision-making, and regret, making it relatable and enjoyable for audiences regardless of their familiarity with the original myth.
The play features original music by Phil Grainger, translated and adapted by Antonio Vega and Ana Graham, with music transcribed to Spanish by Cristóbal MarYán. Tickets are available for purchase on Ticketera, TicketCenter, and at the theater's box office.
