The Puerto Rico Aqueduct and Sewer Authority (AAA) announced that repair work on the extraction pump at the Santa Rosa Dam has been successfully completed, allowing the Guaynabo Filter Plant to resume full-capacity operation. According to AAA, the pump was repaired and put back into service, restoring maximum raw water intake to the plant.
The system is currently in a recovery process, with operational staff monitoring water levels and making adjustments needed to stabilize drinking water production and distribution. AAA stated that customers served by the Guaynabo Filter Plant will begin to experience a gradual recovery of service as levels and pressures in the distribution network normalize.
The utility projected that the system will continue recovering over the coming hours until normal operating and distribution conditions are fully restored.
