The Hatillo Ganaderas defeated the reigning champion Moca Explosivas 70-45 in the opening game of the 2026 Baloncesto Superior Nacional Femenino (BSNF) tournament at the Juan Sánchez Acevedo Coliseum. Dontavia Waggoner led Hatillo with 27 points and 14 rebounds, while Okako Adika added 12 points and 13 rebounds.
Ciara Harris scored 11 points for Hatillo. For Moca, Ashley Torres was the top scorer with 17 points.
In another game, the Caguas Criollas beat the Fajardo Cariduras 78-55 at the Tomás Dones Coliseum, with Te'a Cooper scoring 24 points and Taylor Robertson and Dre'Una Edwards each scoring 21 points. Mya Hollingshed, a former national team player, had a double-double with 15 points and 11 rebounds for Fajardo.
