Governor Jenniffer González defended keeping Luis González Delgado as president of the Puerto Rico Aqueduct and Sewer Authority (AAA), saying she asked him to stay during the crisis: "En los momentos más duros le pedí que se quede al mando. Cosa que hizo." She did not say whether he would eventually leave the post. She acknowledged staffing shortages at AAA, noting a lack of licensed engineers due to low salaries compared to private-sector pay, and said she is "still conducting interviews" to fill roles including regional directors and vice presidencies.
She also said she will seek reconsideration of a bill that would have allowed engineer Carlos Pesquera to join the AAA board, which failed in the Senate. On her relationship with Senate President Thomas Rivera Schatz, González said nothing will change following the resignation of Francisco Domenech as secretary of the governor's office, calling ongoing friction part of the run-up to a coming primary. She said she remains focused on her duties and will address primary matters later.
González also confirmed she continues commissioning polls about a possible 2028 candidacy and issues important to citizens, but declined to share what those surveys reveal.
