Published Nov 1, 2026, 6:04 AM AST787daily · Original analysis

At a glance

  • Carraízo: 40.75 → 40.72 m (−3 cm) over 6 days, Safe band, 1.32 in of rain nearby in the final week
  • La Plata: 42.64 → 42.20 m (−44 cm) over 6 days, Adjustments band, 0.6 in of rain nearby in the final week
  • Cidra: 400.60 → 400.59 m (−1 cm) over 6 days, Watch band, 2.3 in of rain nearby in the final week
  • Readings of October 25–31: the Puerto Rico Aqueduct and Sewer Authority (AAA) posted a chart on 7 of 7 days

Why this matters: What the week changed is the distance to the next band line (1.02 m for Carraízo, 1.70 m for La Plata) and the pace at which it is closing or opening.

What it adds up to

What changed the picture this week is La Plata. It lost 44 cm in six days, fell nearly every morning, and now sits in the Adjustments band (Ajustes), well below Carraízo and Cidra in standing. Last week’s pace was almost the same (-7 cm a day), so this is a steady slide, not a one-off. At this week’s rate the Control line at 40.50 m is about 23 days away, around November 24. That is arithmetic, not a forecast.

The rain did not change that. Cidra took 2.3 in across 11 gauges, yet its next-morning change after both wet days was zero, and it sits 0.36 m above the Adjustments line, barely moving. Carraízo got 1.32 in and is still in the Safe band (Seguridad), 1.02 m above observación, essentially flat apart from a 4 cm gain on October 28. La Plata’s 0.6 in of rain left it falling.
