Puerto Rico Senator Héctor Joaquín Sánchez urged customers of the Puerto Rico Aqueduct and Sewer Authority (AAA) who have experienced prolonged water service interruptions to request bill adjustments, noting the first credits should be issued by the end of September. Sánchez asked AAA to expand the number of subscribers eligible for adjustments due to ongoing service fluctuations, seeking to add roughly 37,000 additional affected customers across various sectors of the island.
He emphasized that consumers must actively request credits rather than wait for AAA to apply them automatically, noting that some sectors have already received adjustments while others have not. Sánchez stated, "Aquí lo importante es que los consumidores tienen que pagar su factura, vayan y soliciten un crédito.
No espere porque Acueducto se lo haga." He also noted that condominiums should remain attentive, as they will be eligible not only for credits due to water service shortfalls but also for a stipend covering their common areas.
