The Puerto Rico Senate commemorated the 50th anniversary of the 1976 Medical Class of the University of Puerto Rico's Medical Sciences Campus. Senate President Thomas Rivera Schatz, along with senators Gregorio Matías, Juan Oscar Morales Rodríguez, Adrián González Costa, and others, presented motions of congratulations to the 60 members of the class.
The recognition honors their decades of service, dedication, and commitment to healthcare in Puerto Rico. Rivera Schatz stated that the true story of a medical school is written by its doctors, patients, and the lives they positively impacted.
The commemoration acknowledges both the academic achievements of 1976 and the subsequent decades of service. Senators from different delegations joined in the recognition, highlighting the significant contribution this generation of doctors has made to the healthcare system and the well-being of Puerto Ricans over the past five decades.
