Representative Ángel 'Tito' Fourquet Cordero of the Partido Popular Democrático was arrested on Tuesday, September 22, for allegedly driving under the influence on PR-2 in Ponce. According to a police report, Fourquet Cordero had a strong odor of alcohol, red eyes, and slow speech when he was stopped by agents from the División de Patrullas de Carreteras at around 10:40 p.m. after making an improper turn in his gray Honda CRV.
The report also notes that he had a shiny face and difficulty expressing himself clearly. Fourquet Cordero took a breath test, which showed 0.061% alcohol in his system, below the legal limit of 0.08%. He was issued administrative fines and given a copy of the documents related to the intervention.
Fourquet Cordero represents district 24 of Ponce, a position he has held since his election in 2020.
