An 88-year-old pedestrian, Héctor Vázquez Ramos, was seriously injured after being struck by a car on Highway 115 in front of a shopping center in Aguada. According to the Police, Vázquez Ramos was walking on the road near 7:13 am and crossed outside the designated pedestrian area. He was hit by a 2007 orange Toyota Yaris driven by 52-year-old Ana Rosa Rivera, also a resident of Aguada.
Paramedics took Vázquez Ramos to a local hospital, where a doctor reported his condition as serious. Rivera presented a health issue at the scene and was also taken to a hospital for medical attention. The accident is being investigated by Agent Norbin Lorenzo of the Aguadilla Highway Patrol Division and Prosecutor Yashira Vale, who ordered blood tests and the seizure of the vehicle.
