An 88-year-old man, Héctor Vázquez Ramos, died after being hit by a car while crossing PR-115 outside the pedestrian crossing area in front of the Aguada Shopping Center. According to preliminary information, Vázquez Ramos was walking on the road when he crossed the street and was struck by a 2007 orange Toyota Yaris driven by 52-year-old Ana M. Rosa Rivera, also a resident of Aguada.
Vázquez Ramos was taken to a hospital where he was treated, but later died. The driver, Ana M. Rosa Rivera, was also taken to a hospital after experiencing a health issue at the scene. The investigation is being led by Agent Nolbin Lorenzo, under the supervision of Sergeant Pedro Pellot Cordero, along with prosecutor Yashira Vale.
The prosecutor ordered blood tests and the seizure of the vehicle as part of the investigation.
