The Hospital Menonita in Aibonito announced the start of a $51.8 million renovation and expansion project, which will improve access and increase service capacity for the central region. The project, financed by CDBG-MIT mitigation funds administered by the Department of Housing and the hospital's own funds, includes changes to the hospital's infrastructure, expansion of medical capacity, and emergency-ready facilities.
Over 150 parking spaces will be added, and access to the hospital complex will be modified to facilitate entry for patients, families, employees, and visitors. Governor Jenniffer González Colón stated that this project represents a commitment to providing top-level medical services in modern, safe, and resilient facilities for the residents of Aibonito and the central region.
