LUMA Energy will perform maintenance, repair, and improvement work on the electrical infrastructure in several municipalities in Puerto Rico. The work includes improving the resilience of poles, installing automated equipment, removing hazardous vegetation, maintaining underground systems, and repairing or replacing electrical lines and equipment. The affected areas include Aguadilla, Arecibo, Bayamón, Gurabo, Hatillo, Florida, Cidra, Carolina, and Ponce.
In these municipalities, LUMA will work on various streets, neighborhoods, and communities, such as urbanizations, barrios, and commercial centers. The work is part of LUMA's efforts to strengthen the electrical grid and address various components of the system. Up to 14 towns may experience power outages due to the work.
