Representative Héctor Ferrer Santiago, the spokesperson for the minority Popular Democratic Party (PPD) in the House of Representatives, alleged that Governor Jenniffer González requested the immediate resignation of Bianca Medina Díaz, the administrator of the Administración de Desarrollo Socioeconómico de la Familia (Adsef). This comes as the agency faces questions about the management of federal funds and problems with the implementation of ÍntegraPR in paying suppliers for services in this program.
Ferrer Santiago urged the government to guarantee the continuity of services at Adsef, which administers millions of dollars in federal funds for essential programs for thousands of Puerto Rican families. He requested that the governor and the secretary of the Department of the Family, Suzanne Roig Fuertes, inform whether Medina Díaz's departure will impact Adsef's operations, including the administration and disbursement of benefits from the PAN program and other nutritional assistance programs.
El Nuevo Día has sought confirmation from Adsef and La Fortaleza regarding Ferrer's statements and is awaiting a response.
