The Senate's Family Committee will investigate allegations of alleged pressure to sign contracts at the Socioeconomic Development of the Family Administration (ADSEF), according to committee chair Wandy Soto Tolentino. The probe follows public statements by Blanca Medina Díaz, now the former ADSEF administrator, about the circumstances of her departure from the agency and its contracting processes.
La Fortaleza confirmed Medina Díaz's exit. As part of the inquiry, the committee will examine information that has surfaced in the media and Medina Díaz's statements, and will request documentation related to the processes in question. The investigation will also cover the actions of the officials and agencies involved, the procedures used to evaluate contracts, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
It will also seek to clarify the allegations of possible pressure on ADSEF officials to formalize certain contracts, as expressed by the former administrator. Soto Tolentino said the public statements are serious and warrant learning all the facts, stressing that the Legislative Assembly must oversee that decisions involving public funds follow the law and transparent procedures.
She said the committee is not drawing conclusions or assigning blame, will hear all parties, and will seek corrective measures if deficiencies are found.
