Larry Ayuso has been announced as the new leader of the Capitanes de Arecibo in the Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN) during a press conference. Ayuso, a former player for the national team, is returning to the franchise, where he played for five seasons and won three championships. His number 10 jersey was retired by the franchise in 2024.
Ayuso comes from winning two titles as an assistant to Christian Dalmau with the Vaqueros de Bayamón. He will replace Juan Cardona, who left the position several weeks ago to take over the Gigantes de Carolina-Canóvanas. Ayuso has previously led the Cangrejeros de Santurce and the Piratas de Quebradillas, and was named Leader of the Year with the Piratas in 2022.
