Two Dominican citizens were extradited to Puerto Rico to face federal charges tied to an alleged cyberstalking and interstate threats scheme, Dominican Republic authorities reported Thursday, according to Listín Diario. The extradited individuals were identified as Rineldys Feliciano Díaz Cuevas and Patricia Joanna Almonte Frías. Both are wanted by the District of Puerto Rico on charges of conspiracy to commit cyberstalking and transmission of interstate threats.
They were located and arrested in Santo Domingo Este through investigative work by the Dominican National Police, and were then placed in the custody of agents of the National Directorate for Drug Control (DNCD). The defendants were taken to Las Américas International Airport, where they were handed over to officers of the U.S. Marshals Service for transfer to Puerto Rico.
The extraditions were authorized through resolutions of the Second Chamber of the Dominican Republic's Supreme Court of Justice and Executive Branch decrees 609-26 and 611-26. The charges are accusations, and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
