The University of Puerto Rico (UPR) has launched UPR Técnica, an institutional initiative that brings together 253 technical and professional training offerings from its campuses and units into one portal. The platform provides access to educational alternatives for individuals seeking to acquire new skills, update their knowledge, start a business, or improve their professional opportunities.
UPR Técnica includes 31 associate's degrees, nearly 196 short courses, and 32 non-degree certifications and certificates in areas such as technology, health, construction, engineering, renewable energy, agriculture, entrepreneurship, education, languages, manufacturing, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, welding, drone management, and design. According to UPR President Dr. Zayira Jordán Conde, the platform makes educational offerings more accessible and allows the university to respond to the needs of the workforce and economic development in Puerto Rico.
The platform is directed at students, workers, professionals, entrepreneurs, and anyone interested in strengthening their preparation, with options for in-person, hybrid, and online learning.
