The Department of Agriculture states that the goal is to limit the impact on consumers. The Department of Consumer Affairs (DACO) issued a new order raising the minimum price of ripe coffee cherries from $18 to $22 per almud received by farmers.

The Department of Agriculture justifies the adjustments due to increased production costs and international market prices, but assures that the goal is to limit the impact on consumers. The new order will take effect on November 13, 2026.
