A pedestrian was severely injured after being hit by a vehicle at the intersection of PR-21 and Avenida José De Diego in Puerto Nuevo, San Juan, on Friday night at around 7:16 pm. According to preliminary information from the Police, a 911 emergency call alerted authorities to the incident. When officers arrived, they found the injured man, whose identity has not been released, while the driver of the involved vehicle remained at the scene.
The injured man received attention from Emergency Medical paramedics and was later taken to a nearby hospital, where his condition was described as serious. The driver was given a blood test to determine possible alcohol or controlled substance use. Agent Wilson Durán, assigned to the Patrols and Highways Bureau in the San Juan area, is leading the investigation.
