Police are investigating the killing of an older adult in what is described as an alleged neighbor dispute, in events reported Friday night on PR-837 in the Santa Rosa I ward of Guaynabo. According to the preliminary investigation, a 911 call reported a person wounded with a bladed weapon. When officers arrived, they found Ezequiel Gómez Rentas, 67, a Guaynabo resident, with a wound to the neck area.
Gómez Rentas was taken to a nearby hospital, where he later died. In connection with the events, a 52-year-old man was arrested by the Guaynabo Municipal Police. Agent Vivian Acevedo Jiménez, assigned to the Homicide Division of the Criminal Investigations Corps (CIC) in Bayamón, together with prosecutor Javier Rivera Rivera, took charge of the investigation.
