The Puerto Rico Aqueduct and Sewer Authority (AAA) invested $400,000 in cloud seeding to reduce the effects of drought in Puerto Rico. According to Luis González Delgado, the method was effective, as reported by the cloud seeding company. However, González Delgado noted that he is not a climate expert and that the National Weather Service (NWS) will evaluate the impact of this practice.

The AAA president stated that the drought has not ended and that Puerto Rico will continue to be monitored for severe or moderate drought. He emphasized the need to continue being prudent with water usage and to keep a close eye on the island’s reservoirs, rivers, and streams. González Delgado also mentioned that the arrival of rains has improved the situation, but the drought is not over yet.
