Bryan Saavedra, president of the San Juan precinct 2 of the Partido Popular Democrático (PPD), asked for the party members’ vote for the Junta de Gobierno in the October 11 assembly in Ponce, to contribute to the party’s refundación. Saavedra, who occupies the fifth position on the ballot, explained that the Junta de Gobierno is the party’s governing body, responsible for presenting the government plan for 2028.
He stated that the main struggle today may be against the corruption of the Partido Nuevo Progresista (PNP) and that it must be stopped. When asked if the current situation in the PPD is refundación or reciclaje, Saavedra responded that it is a balance between new and experienced faces. He also highlighted the party’s good results in the comisaría residente and noted that the PPD remains the second opposition delegation in the Senate.
