House of Representatives President Carlos 'Johnny' Méndez and Representative Elinette González Aguayo are seeking to start the rehabilitation and restoration of the Manuel 'Nolo' Morales beach in Dorado. They plan to visit the facility this Friday to assist in its reconditioning and conversion into a tourist attraction and source of microenterprises. The legislators want to rehabilitate the parking area, remodel the sanitary services and administrative offices, build a new entrance booth, and clean and maintain the green areas.
The visit is part of the '100 x 35' community impact project, an initiative by Méndez to engage in frank and direct dialogue with residents across Puerto Rico to identify viable solutions to existing problems. González Aguayo has held meetings with Department of Natural and Environmental Resources (DRNA) Secretary Waldemar Quiles to follow up on plans to recondition the beach’s premises.
