On Sunday, October 11, 2026, Judge Jailinne González of the Aguadilla Tribunal found probable cause to arrest Ángel J. Morales Quintana, 28, for allegedly attempting to kill his mother, Damaris Quintana, 50, and his grandfather, Narciso Quintana, 73, in a San Sebastián residence. According to the police report, the incident occurred early Sunday morning when Morales Quintana’s mother saw him acting 'desorientado y agresivo' in the Robles neighborhood.
He allegedly tried to strangle her with a wire around her neck and later attempted to strangle his grandfather, who managed to break free. Morales Quintana then took his grandfather’s Hyundai Sonata and crashed it into a post, causing lacerations on his right leg. He received medical attention at a local hospital.
The investigation was led by Agent Miguel Chaparro Galloza, supervised by Sergeant Ariel Irizarry Cortés, and directed by Lieutenant Orlando Camacho Vélez of the Aguadilla Police Region’s Criminal Investigations Corps. The case was consulted by the Aguadilla Prosecutor’s Office, which formally presented two charges of attempted murder, aggravated damage, and elder abuse. Judge González scheduled a preliminary hearing for October 19, 2026. Morales Quintana remains detained after failing to post the $220,000 bail.
