A trough will bring unstable weather to much of Puerto Rico and heavy rain to the western and southwestern regions on Tuesday afternoon. According to Yidiana Zayas, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service (NWS), the day will be quite variable, with several municipalities on the north-central coast already experiencing a thunderstorm event. Zayas noted that the affected municipalities included Toa Baja, Dorado, Vega Baja, and surrounding areas.
The rest of the day will remain cloudy with additional activity expected in the afternoon, particularly in inland areas and western and southwestern municipalities, which may see heavier rain. The NWS also expects a moderate risk of rip currents at northern and eastern Puerto Rico beaches. Zayas added that the pattern is expected to continue throughout the week.
