A man was arrested in Toa Alta, Puerto Rico, on Wednesday after his 6-year-old daughter brought a marijuana cigarette to her school. The incident occurred during the morning when the girl handed the cigarette to a teacher. The school immediately activated its protocols and notified the authorities.
Municipal Police agents investigated and detained the girl’s father after conducting several interviews. According to preliminary information, the father does not have a medical cannabis license. The case is under review by the Prosecutor’s Office to determine if criminal charges will be filed.
The man remains detained while the investigation continues. The Police Commissioner explained that the father was given the required legal warnings before being arrested.
