A 26-year-old motorcyclist remains in grave condition after being thrown from his bike in a traffic accident on PR-867 at kilometer 3.5 in Toa Baja on Sunday night. Police identified the rider as Orlando Guzmán Rivera, who was driving a 2024 Suzuki DR-Z400 when the driver of a 2019 Toyota Tacoma made an improper turn and invaded his lane, according to preliminary police information.

Guzmán Rivera lost control of the handlebars and hit the truck, was ejected and suffered serious injuries. Paramedics treated him and took him to an area hospital, where the physician on duty said his condition was guarded. Police said the Tacoma’s driver took an alcohol test that came back 0.00%.

Agent Reinaldo Tallado, of the Bayamón Patrols and Highways Division, investigated the accident alongside prosecutor Verónica Ortiz, who ordered both vehicles seized.
