Puerto Rico Police are investigating the death of an unidentified man that occurred early Wednesday at kilometer 2.5 of the PR-22 expressway, in the Bayamón direction toward the Minillas bridge in San Juan. Authorities reported that all lanes toward the Minillas tunnel are closed, with traffic being diverted to exit 18. According to preliminary police information, the man took his own life and his body ended up on the pavement of the expressway.
Later, the driver of a gray Toyota RAV4 traveling on the road did not notice his presence and struck him with the front of the vehicle. Agents from the Hato Rey Oeste precinct responded to the alert. Agent Zujeily Vega, assigned to that precinct, conducted the preliminary investigation and referred the case to the Assault Division of the Criminal Investigations Corps (CIC) of San Juan, which will continue the investigation in coordination with the prosecutor on duty.
