Gendy and Carlos, the couple seriously injured in a traffic accident in Manatí, Puerto Rico, have been moved out of the intensive care unit and are continuing their recovery, according to their friend Joshua Falcón in an interview on Pega’os en la Mañana. The crash had put the couple’s lives at risk along with those of a young boy and a baby who was on the way.

Falcón said the child and the newborn are doing well, but the baby remains in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), where her grandparents and brother are able to spend time with her. Reflecting on the ordeal, Falcón said the experience has made him more empathetic toward people in similar situations, noting that a crash changes life not only for those present but for all relatives, especially the caregivers.

"Ese día no hubo un milagro, hubo cuatro milagros," he said in Spanish, calling it four miracles, and expressed gratitude and hope that the family will soon be reunited at home.
