The State Insurance Fund Corporation (CFSE) reported that an explosion at an electrical substation in Ponce caused a power outage affecting the operations of its Ponce Region, forcing the rescheduling of appointments for injured workers. Administrator Enid Ortiz Rodríguez said the corporation’s priority is that injured workers receive the attention they need and have information on available service alternatives, adding that staff are handling the situation and will contact each injured worker whose appointment was affected to coordinate rescheduling.

While service is restored, injured workers who require emergency medical care may go to the Industrial Hospital. The CFSE also said its Guayama and Mayagüez regions will remain available to serve injured workers affected by the interruption in Ponce. The corporation urged workers and employers to use the CFSE Móvil app to complete available administrative transactions without visiting offices in person, and said it will announce the restoration of services in the Ponce Region through its official channels.
