A woman was hospitalized after being shot in San Germán, an incident the Puerto Rico Police Bureau has been investigating since Sunday afternoon. The shooting was reported around 5:20 PM on PR-314 in the Sabana Eneas neighborhood, after a call to the 9-1-1 Emergency System alerted police to the aggression. According to the police report, officers arriving at the scene found a woman with a bullet wound to the abdomen.
Preliminary information indicates that a white car, possibly a Toyota Camry, was passing near the victim’s car when it stopped and someone inside fired at her. Paramedics transported the woman to the emergency room of an area hospital, where she was treated by the doctor on duty; her condition was unknown at the time of the report.
Agent José Florestier Rivera, assigned to the Mayagüez Homicide Division, is in charge of the investigation.
