Patients and survivors of breast cancer walked a runway before hundreds of people at Plaza del Caribe’s central atrium in Ponce during the sixth edition of the San Lucas de Rosa Fashion Show. The event is organized by the Episcopal San Lucas Medical Center (CMESL) to promote prevention and early detection of the disease. Rafael Alvarado Noriega, the CMESL’s operational executive director, said the event matters greatly to the institution and that it is proud to offer meaningful experiences to patients who deserve them, adding that no one is exempt from cancer and early detection can save lives.

Walking down a pink-lit runway, the participants shared stories of strength and overcoming the illness. Among the audience were family members, friends, patients, employees of the Episcopal San Lucas Health System, and representatives of government entities and community organizations. To prepare, participants chose their outfits at Macy’s Ponce and took workshops in makeup, runway walking and self-esteem.

The event was carried out with the collaboration of Macy’s Ponce, Revista BeHealth, Plaza del Caribe, El Tablajero Meat Center, Chocolab, Emily’s Beauty & Hair, Extension Center, Azio Floral Events, TOUS, AMB Rental and CDJ Events Solutions.
