The chair of the Government Committee of the Puerto Rico House of Representatives, Víctor Parés, announced he will refer Energy czar Josué Colón; Mary Carmen Zapata, executive director of the public power corporation; and lawyers Osvaldo Carlo and Juan González Galarza to the authorities, as part of the investigation into the failed contract with Power Expectations for temporary power generation. Parés confirmed on Pega’os en la Mañana that the Government Ethics Office compiled the files and began examining them, though the conclusions of that evaluation have not yet been detailed.
"The final report is already done. God willing, next week we will be presenting it to the House of Representatives," the lawmaker said. He also confirmed that the Government Ethics Office and the Office of the Comptroller are investigating the case, and said he will additionally refer the matter to the Department of Justice, the Office of the Inspector General, the Panel on the Independent Special Prosecutor and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
Parés said he will make the report public during one of next week’s legislative sessions, possibly on Thursday.
