A 21-year-old woman, identified by the Puerto Rico Police Bureau as Sachenka Morales, was arrested Wednesday on a first-degree murder charge as an accomplice for allegedly transporting a suspect in the killing of 22-year-old Jadriel Antonio Rivas Laboy to Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in Carolina so he could leave Puerto Rico. Rivas Laboy was shot dead around 9:26 PM on January 28, 2026, while driving a Veloce motorcycle on PR-3 in Patillas; a 9-1-1 call alerted police.
Agent Carlos M. León Vázquez of the Guayama Criminal Investigations Corps Homicide Division, supervised by Sergeant Jennifer Colón Mateo, investigated, and prosecutor Carlos Ojeda Marini filed charges. Judge Ángel Rodríguez Torres of the Guayama court found probable cause and set bail at $250,000. Separately, 25-year-old Keimy Feliciano Colón Medina, arrested in Philadelphia in July and extradited, was admitted Tuesday to the Bayamón correctional facility after failing to post $2 million bail on a first-degree murder charge and three weapons-law violations.
Judge Alfrida Tomey Imbert read him his legal warnings at the San Juan court. Rivas Laboy’s mother, Verónica Laboy Pérez, posted on social media that nine months after her son’s death she seeks justice, not revenge, and thanked supporters.
