Keimy Feliciano Colón Medina, 25, accused of fatally shooting 22-year-old Jadiel A. Rivas Laboy in Patillas, was extradited from Philadelphia and taken into custody on Tuesday, when he was admitted to the Bayamón jail after failing to post $2 million bail. The Puerto Rico Police said an arrest warrant charged him with first-degree murder and three weapons law violations.
According to authorities, the shooting occurred on January 28, 2026, on PR-3, kilometer 126.4, in the Cacao neighborhood of Patillas, where Colón Medina allegedly fired a firearm several times at Rivas Laboy, who died at the scene. The suspect was arrested in Philadelphia in July and later extradited to Puerto Rico to face judicial proceedings.
Agents of the Intelligence and Arrests Division of the Guayama area executed the warrant in the afternoon at the San Juan court, where Judge Alfrida Tomey Imbert read him his legal warnings and ordered his admission to prison when he did not post the bail imposed.
