After three decades in music, Puerto Rican reggaetón star Daddy Yankee has released "La Postal," his first conceptual album, in which each song works as a kind of letter addressed to someone or to an experience that has marked his life. The album covers romantic, family and self-love, and pays tribute to Latin music. It features collaborations with artists from different genres and markets: Cardi B, Myke Towers, Danny Ocean, Bizarrap, De La Rose and Indian artist Diljit Dosanjh.
The lead single is "Pokito," a collaboration with Dosanjh that blends reggaetón with Punyabí musical elements, connecting Puerto Rico’s musical roots with those of the Punyab region of India. Its music video, directed by Stillz and filmed in Puerto Rico, premiered alongside the song. Daddy Yankee said he always believed Punyabí music and reggaetón could be combined, and that the collaboration took shape when Dosanjh traveled to Puerto Rico and they recorded together.
He described "Pokito" as a song about discipline, effort and self-love. The 15-track album also includes "BOTZ," "Se Va" with Myke Towers, "Cosita" with Cardi B, "Alfombra Voladora" with Danny Ocean and "Pa' Que Llorar" with Bizarrap. His son, producer Jeremy Ayala González, took part in the production.
