Puerto Rico will host the NORCECA Continental Olympic Qualifier for beach volleyball, taking place November 6-8 at the Areia Sports Complex in Vega Baja. The event brings together men’s and women’s pairs from across North America, Central America and the Caribbean as top duos prepare for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games. Puerto Rico enters the tournament on the strength of recent results at the eighth stop of the 2026 NORCECA Continental Tour in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.
In the women’s division, Allanis Navas and Keishlyann Sánchez earned the silver medal, reaching the final after a dramatic comeback in the semifinals against Cuba before finishing as runners-up to the United States. In the men’s division, Diego Rosich and William Rivera took bronze by defeating the Dominican Republic team in three sets. Navas-Sánchez and Rosich-Rivera are the primary focus of local anticipation for the Vega Baja event, which will also feature representatives from countries across the NORCECA region, including Belize, Canada, Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Mexico, the United States, Barbados, Bermuda, Grenada, and Trinidad and Tobago.
