Vega Baja is a coastal municipality in the north central region of Puerto Rico, about 19 miles from San Juan, and part of the San Juan–Caguas–Guaynabo metropolitan statistical area. It lies north of Morovis, east of Manatí, and west of Vega Alta, spread across 14 barrios with a population of roughly 54,414 as of the 2020 census.
Founded in 1776, the municipality covers 144.28 km² along the north coast. Among its coastal features is Playa de Vega, one of the beaches in the area.
