Police in the Canóvanas district investigated a complaint on Wednesday morning of illegal appropriation of heavy equipment from the grounds of the San Isidro Service Station gas station on road PR-188 in Canóvanas, Puerto Rico. The complainant reported the crime at about 7:34 AM. Wednesday after noticing that a Caterpillar excavator, model CAT0242BKSR02674, yellow, year 2013, had been taken.
Those responsible also damaged the ignition system of a mini excavator, model 35Zi. Both pieces of equipment belong to the company PCTM Construction. The estimated value of the stolen equipment is approximately $65,000.
Officer Roberto Suárez, assigned to the Canóvanas district, referred the case to the Property Crimes Division of the Criminal Investigations Corps (CIC) of Carolina.
