Water levels at two of Puerto Rico's key reservoirs continued their decline this week. Carraízo dropped another 3 centimeters to 37.82 meters, placing it in the "ajustes" band and just 0.82 meters above the control line — a pace that suggests roughly 27.3 days remain at current rates. This follows a report a day earlier showing Carraízo down 1 centimeter to 37.85 meters, alongside a 7-centimeter drop at La Plata, both still within the ajustes range.

Power and infrastructure troubles also marked the day. LUMA Energy denied that a fire had occurred at the Costa Sur switchyard, after an outage left more than 200,000 customers without electricity over the weekend. Separately, immigration enforcement drew attention as a 20-year-old woman traveled from Massachusetts to Puerto Rico in hopes of visiting her father, who is being held at a detention facility referred to as "La Neverita," reflecting the anguish families face amid ICE detentions.

Political tensions surfaced as well, with protesters forcing the closure of the main entrance to the Hotel San Juan during a fundraising event for the governor.
