Beach water qualityRincón is a surf and kitesurf destination on Puerto Rico's western tip, where the main season runs November to March. Winter swell arrives from the north-northwest, typically 4–10 feet, and wraps into the breaks along the coast. Kitesurfing happens on the north side of town at Little Malibu, where northeast trade winds of 15–25 knots (17–29 mph) set the conditions and the riding is geared to experienced kiters.
The water changes character outside winter. Summer is the calmer period and is the better time for diving.
