Man Found Dead in Toa Baja Motel Identified

The Homicide Division of the CIC in Bayamón is investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a man found dead in a motel cabin in Toa Baja. The body was discovered at around 4:30 a.m. in cabin 18 of the Villa Borinquen motel, located on PR-866 in the Candelaria neighborhood, by employees who entered to clean after the rental time had expired. The man, identified as 58-year-old Luis Francisco Moreno Álvarez, a resident of Bayamón, was found naked, with his clothing and belongings at the scene.

Authorities have not determined if the vehicle he arrived in belonged to him, as none was found in the parking area and no description has been released. Captain Raúl Negrón, director of the CIC, stated that they are waiting for court orders to extract security camera footage and other information. No signs of physical aggression were observed on the body, and the case has been classified as a medical case.

The investigation is being led by Agent Iván Santiago and prosecutor Mario Soto, who ordered the body to be transferred to the Institute of Forensic Sciences for autopsy. So far, no one has reported a missing person with similar characteristics.
