A partially burned body was found on Wednesday afternoon behind a condominium in Ponce. The discovery was reported between 11:50 a.m. and 12:15 p.m. behind the La Ceiba condominium, following a call to the Ponce Oeste Precinct.
Captain Daniel Justiniano, director of the Ponce Criminal Investigations Corps (CIC), stated that due to the condition of the body, it was not immediately possible to determine the victim's sex, and they will await the results of tests and an autopsy by the Institute of Forensic Sciences (ICF) to establish the identity. The remains were found in a vacant lot behind the condominium.
As of Tuesday, the Police had reported 229 murders so far this year, 16 more than the 213 registered at the same time in 2025.
