Tyquan Rolón scored a basket with four seconds left, leading the Osos de Manatí to a 93-92 win over the Capitanes de Arecibo on Tuesday at the Coliseo Juan Aubín Cruz Abreu. The win kept Manatí alive in the Baloncesto Superior Nacional (BSN) season, improving their record to 14-18. They are now 2.5 games behind the Cangrejeros de Santurce, who occupy the fourth position in Conference A with a 16-15 record.
Manatí needs to win their remaining games and have Santurce lose their last three for a chance to force a tiebreaker game. Cheick Diallo led the Osos with 29 points and nine rebounds, while Ramses Meléndez scored 17 points and seven rebounds for Arecibo. After the game, Meléndez criticized the referees on social media, stating that the Capitanes committed 26 personal fouls, compared to the Osos' 14.
The BSN will continue on Wednesday with games between Santurce and Aguada, and San Germán and Mayagüez.
