A tropical wave will bring increased humidity and rainfall to Puerto Rico on Monday, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in San Juan. After a relatively dry and stable Sunday, the tropical system will affect the island, leading to the development of rain showers in various areas.
Although sunny intervals are expected during the day, the increased humidity will raise the likelihood of rain showers, especially in the afternoon. Temperatures will remain hot, with highs near 90 degrees Fahrenheit in coastal and urban areas, and easterly winds will blow at 10-20 miles per hour, with occasional gusts.
The NWS recommended that citizens stay hydrated, limit sun exposure during peak heat hours, and stay alert to forecast updates, as the tropical wave could produce locally heavy rain showers in some municipalities. The weather authorities will continue to monitor the system's evolution and urged the population to follow official bulletins for any changes in weather conditions.
