Puerto Rico's undefeated streak in the U17 Basketball World Cup came to an end with a 98-77 loss to host team Turkey, finishing the group stage with a 2-1 record. The team, led by coach Landy Pantojas, had previously won against Slovenia and New Zealand.
Dwight Gaines led the team with 19 points, followed by Alexis Fuentes with 11 and Jeremy Willmore with 10. Turkey's Omer Kutluay scored 32 points, leading his team to a 3-0 record in the group stage.
Puerto Rico will now face Costa de Marfil in the quarterfinals on Wednesday. The team finished second in Group C.
